Looking Ahead

Preparing our students for the future is a key part of Route 39's ethos and IAG Lead Mr Boardman arranges a wide variety of excursions and visits to and from potential employers, colleges, universities and specialist teachers.  Recently students expressing an interest in careers in Engineering were offered the opportunity to visit local Engineering firm Anglo, part of the Krempel Group.  Anglo are a supplier of composites and polymer products to the aerospace, defence, medical, automotive, transport and industrial markets across the globe and this was a chance to discover what happens on a daily basis in a hi-tech engineering factory.
This was then followed by a Plymouth Marjon University Outreach Team returning to school to deliver enrichment based activities and information for all Challenge students.  They delivered seminars and workshops on employment application techniques such as interview skills, writing successful CVs and cover letters, and general information on Further Education.

We take the future of our students seriously at The Academy and offering them the chance to gain cost free work experience, receive specialist training and complete longer term work placements is just another way we are looking ahead to their futures.
